Environmentally Friendly Online Shopping

Why country/regional shopping makes a difference

Most of us now enjoy the convenience of online shopping, but all too often (particularly non US-based) shoppers end up ordering items from overseas. Not only does this usually cost more and lead to shipping delays, but most often these shipments are made via air couriers. Air freight creates about 10 times the carbon emissions that truck or rail based shipping does, or about 20 times the carbon emissions of using sea freight. By ordering goods from online retailers from within your own country, you can drastically reduce the carbon footprint of your online purchases.

Often the online products you want are available in your local country or region, but can be difficult to find, so we've compiled this directory to help you (and our environment).

How you can help

Simply by starting your shopping trips with us you'll find that many of the products you are looking for are available from merchants within your own country, and therefore will probably be shipped via truck rather than air freight. This means much lower environmental impact, and usually lower shipping costs for you as well.
When you make a purchase after clicking through one of the links on our site it helps us to grow and continue researching more shopping options for you. Encouraging your friends to try us as well is even better! Together our small individual efforts can make a large impact on the amount of fossil fuels we use and their environmental impact.
